I’m Jesus Rivera, a fantasy writer, sound designer & technician, and former educator who has never quite managed to do just one thing (if that wasn’t obvious). Over the years I’ve taught theatre and creative writing, crafted sound for live theatre and mixed musicals, and spent a stretch of time as a squire for a jousting troupe, which is exactly as absurd and wonderful as it sounds.
Current Projects
My main project is the World of Kaladoum, an epic fantasy setting I began crafting in 2016. Since then, Kaladoum has become the backdrop for most of my short stories and novels, including my graduate thesis, Downer Rats.
Other than Kaladoum, I have two ongoing series: Echoes of a Journey and Musings of a Streamer. Echoes explores the ups and downs of life as a writer finding his way. Musings follows my streaming journey on Twitch and YouTube, and the unexpected fulfillment it brought.

My fiction is built around worldbuilding and characters readers can see themselves in. My content creation focuses on building a community to make the trip to other worlds, or just an evening, worth exploring. And sound work blends the two together. Whether I’m writing, mixing, or standing in front of a classroom, my goal is the same: make your time with me feel like a journey to somewhere new.
When I’m not chasing my own stories, I help others build theirs.
